Festoonery Signature Necklace #2

Patti Walton exhibited at a bead festival (Iris Moon Bead Festive, West Palm Beach, Fl.) and I fell in love with her blown glass beads. Due to my fondness for combinations of yellow, purple and green, I purchased three large beads from her which I used in this necklace as accent pieces (the large yellow oval flatish bead at the bottom, the amethyst and green striped bead above it and the purple donut). The other two accent beads, the amethyst drops, above and below Patti's striped bead, are vintage Swarovski crystal beads. Again, I used Greasy yellow green seed beads (alone and in the peyote beads), 8mm yellow jade beads, lavender glass flowers, purple and olive green glass leaves, amethyst and green glass dagger drops, Miyuki tear drops, and various Czech glass beads (4mm – 12mm).

In both this necklace and Hummingbird necklace, I started with a large donut. Using the brick stitch, I looped seed beads around the donut and then fringed. On the Blown Glass Necklace, I did the same at the top of the donut to attach the neckpieces. The several strands of beads which make up the neckpieces in both necklaces are heavily fringed.
