From the Sea Necklace
This necklace, which was beaded with mostly 11° Delica beads, was created for the International Miyuki Delica Challenge. The large shell is encased in beaded netting, then embellished with free form sculptural peyote and drilled shells. The tubular beaded neckpiece is also embellished with drilled shells. The Delica beads I used are No.s 501, 103 and 901. Other beads used include 11° seed beads (champagne luster) and #15 Hex (silver lined ruby). This necklace is one of the featured pieces in The Sea: Selections from the First International Miyuki Delica Challenge, by Jane Davis. The 1998 Embellishment Show has requested this necklace for a special exhibit featuring a selection of works from the challenge.
